Koshi Zaphir Chime Difference

Koshi chimes and Zaphir chimes are two distinct types of musical instruments that produce beautiful, soothing sounds. Koshi chimes are crafted from bamboo, while Zaphir chimes are primarily made from recycled materials. The design and construction of each chime contribute to their unique characteristics.

Koshi chimes have a long and narrow resonance tube, giving them a bell-like tone that is rich and melodic. The Koshi chime's resonance tube measures approximately 6.5 inches by 2.48 inches (16.5cm x 6.5cm). The total length of a Koshi chime including the cord is approximately 15.75 inches (40cm). Due to the weight and shape of the drop-shaped bamboo plate, Koshi chimes require more movement or wind to create sound.

In contrast, Zaphir chimes have a resonance tube designed according to Da Vinci's "Golden Ratio," giving them a crystal-clear sound that lingers in the air. The Zaphir chime's resonance tube measures approximately 4.72 inches by 2.36 inches (12.5cm x 6.5cm).

The total length of a Zaphir/ Koshi chime including the cord is approximately 15.75 inches (40cm). Zaphir chimes are more suitable for wind-protected areas due to the larger surface area where the wind makes contact.

Koshi chimes are available in four different tunings based on the traditional elements of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water: Terra, Aria, Ignis and Aqua. On the other hand, Zaphir Season chimes come in five different tunings related to the elements and Feng Shui principles, also called Seasons: Crystalide (Spring), Sunray (Summer), Twilight (Autumn), Blue Moon (Winter) and Sufi (Intermediary Season).

The Love Echo (Love & Peace), is the newest addition to the Zaphir collection, tuned to warm, heart-opening tones in a stunning glamorous fuchsia.
